One of the things that many people are concerned about this summer is the fact that travel prices have gone up so much in comparison to years past. People still want to travel but they’re afraid that they just can’t afford to take trips like they used to. Here are a few types of things that can be usually be found for free in any destination:

• Local parks. There are hundreds of cool little local parks across the nation. Some offer the chance to see historic monuments or to walk amazing hiking trails whereas others are just great spots for a picnic and a playground. Either way, they’re always free and always fun.
• Events at local schools. Students at local colleges often host free events. For example, you might go to a wine tasting at the California Culinary Academy or Orlando Culinary Academy. You may see a fashion show at a design school. Check school calendars at any destination.
• Museums. Most museums do charge an admission fee but did you know that most also have free days once a week or month? Check these out when traveling. Zoos fall into this category for some destinations as well.

By focusing on finding free stuff to do at your travel destinations, you can pay only for the cost of getting there and the food that you eat during the stay. This makes it possible to keep on traveling even as vacation prices go up.
