A Friend or Two of Mine

I made a lot of new friends in college, but for the most part, I have a lot of friends that I’ve had since I was a freshman in High School and a few more that I’ve known since I could first start speaking. These are the people that I will always go on fishing trips with, take cross country road trips with and work with in the summer as Hartford pool builders. At least three of them work now as Connecticut pool builders in general with one of them working as one of the New Haven pool contractors and the other two working in Hartford.
It makes it easy to find them in the summer when I go on vacation and even easier to relax with them as they all tend to have pools in their backyards that were built off the books by their friends. It looks like tough work, but it must be a good gig because these guys are living large and have a lot of free time to spend hanging out when I arrive. A couple of them have kids that I enjoy hanging out with too and the family atmosphere is great, plus a nice break from the tedium of corporate and academic America.
