I don’t know how health care matters are dealt with in your family but in my family we argue about them all of the time. Everyone seems to have an opinion on what everyone else in the family should be doing to treat their medical conditions.

The most recent drama was caused when my uncle Jim got involved in a car accident that caused him some serious back pain. The whole family immediately bombarded him with back pain solutions that he should try. Aunt Sue wanted him to get magnetic therapy for pain. My mother said that he should try natural pain relief in the form of herbs and teas that she said could be purchased in Chinatown. Uncle Jim was more interested in chiropractic care but he wasn’t really sure if that was the best way to go or not.

These problems come up in my family because we all care about each other. We all want everyone in the family to be healthy and to feel good. But we sometimes cause each other way too many headaches when we force our opinions to be heard! The only one who seems to have it right is my dad; he doesn’t complain when he doesn’t feel well and he doesn’t tell us what to do when we complain!
